FID Fraud & FinCrime - Fall
Save the date: 9th - 10th November 2026 | The Brewery, London
UK fraud and economic crime reached an estimated £5.5bn in reported value in 2025, with £4.9bn of that linked to money laundering alone.
Financial services fraud losses topped £1.1bn in 2024, and the UK government’s newly published Fraud Strategy 2026–2029 makes one thing clear: this is a cross-sector emergency, and no industry is standing outside it.
Whether you work in financial services, retail, telco, healthcare, e-commerce or beyond, fraud is scaling faster than most organisations’ defences. Account takeovers are at an all-time high. AI-enabled attacks are accelerating. And the criminals causing it all have advantages most organisations don’t: they share intelligence freely across industries and aren’t burdened by regulation.
This is the event where risk, fraud, financial crime, compliance and digital identity leaders from across sectors come together to break down silos, share what’s actually working, and build the kind of cross-industry collaboration that stops fraud at scale.

The scale and complexity of fraud and financial crime continues to rise at an alarming rate, as perpetrators continually making use of new tactics and technologies. Our agenda will revolve around six key themes.
Financial crime does not respect jurisdictional boundaries, yet intelligence sharing between UK and EU institutions remains inconsistent, hampered by legal constraints, commercial sensitivities, and the absence of interoperable infrastructure. What would effective cross-border intelligence sharing look like, and what is needed technically and politically to make it happen?
Money mule accounts remain the backbone of fraud monetisation, and criminal networks are becoming more sophisticated in their recruitment and structuring. Spotting mule behaviour requires looking beyond individual account signals to network-level patterns. How are firms combining graph analytics, consortium data, and law enforcement partnerships to disrupt these networks at scale?
Today’s consumers expect instant access and seamless experiences. Identity verification has become a key part of the customer journey and solutions which are frictionless, yet secure, will drive satisfaction. How can we ensure journeys are as seamless as possible, but still secure, and how can we implement varying levels of friction depending on risk level?
Knowing the identity of every customer, employee, business and autonomous agent is becoming more and more critical in a world with such dynamic cyber and fraud risks. How can innovation in onboarding and KYC ensure compliance, enhance efficiency, user experience and fraud reduction?
AI-powered fraud and synthetic identities have surged in recent times, making it harder for organisations to tell genuine customers from manipulated or fabricated ones, especially during onboarding and account recovery. As attack methods become more convincing, firms need stronger detection, layered verification, and continuous monitoring to stay ahead of fraud without creating unnecessary friction for legitimate users.
Post-Brexit divergence between UK and EU AML frameworks, including the arrival of AMLA as a new EU supervisory authority, is creating fresh challenges for cross-border financial groups. Firms must navigate inconsistent thresholds, reporting obligations, and sanctions regimes across jurisdictions. How can compliance functions stay coherent without duplicating effort, and what does convergence or further divergence mean for operational risk?
