On 26th April our community of identity industry leaders, including financial institutions, policymakers, technology enablers and consumer facing businesses gathered at Future Identity Finance. We explored how innovation, regulation and user experience are changing the way we identify ourselves to access financial services.
During the event, Laura Camplisson, our Future Identity Portfolio Lead, caught up with Fabian Eberle, Co-Founder and COO at Keyless to discuss the most exciting trends and technologies shaping the future of digital identity and finance.
Keyless is a deep tech identity company, pioneering privacy preserving biometrics for passwordless authentication; providing additional trust and safety, as they support financial institutions in strongly authenticating (rather than identifying) their users, across any device.
“Identity is at the forefront and centre of any seamless or frictionless secure personal experience when it comes to online banking payments” Fabian said when talking about the trends shaping the industry. “Neobanks and fintechs are the pioneers in the area, offering a more personalized and convenient user experience compared to traditional financial institutions. That is where we see the future going.”
When talking about solutions needed in the industry, Fabian thinks that it is about balancing a long-term trade-off in the world of identity: user experience and privacy enhancing security. “You need to find a solution that offers a frictionless experience while adding layers of authentication to make the experience secure, compliant with regulations, and preserving the privacy of the user” Fabian added. “We believe that biometric authentication does that”.
