We sat down with Mick Rutherford, Lead Solution Consultant for Opentext, the information management company.

Mick works within the cyber security division, dealing with a very wide ranging set of challenges from application security, information management, encryption all the way through to security incident endpoint management systems and identity.

Mick argues the complexity of how organizations grow over time. Things change. The applications, the endpoints and the users change over time. People come and go. So managing the identity life cycle, management of people’s progression, how their roles and entitlements change and not simply collecting additional permissions over time like collectible cards. Reducing that exposure to the organization, to the resource owners, to the management and to the overall organization is critical.
