In today’s fast-evolving digital world, passwords remain one of the weakest links in cybersecurity.
Passwords are outdated, insecure, and easily compromised. As Adrian Castillo of HID Global explains, they create poor user experiences and expose organisations to serious risks.
“Passwords are easy to steal, and people often reuse them across multiple platforms,” says Castillo. This not only creates vulnerabilities but also exposes businesses to significant risks, including breaches and lateral movement by attackers once inside the network.
The future? Passkeys. These secure, hardware-backed credentials are saved on devices like phones or USB keys. Supported by the FIDO Alliance and tech giants like Google and Microsoft, passkeys offer both better security and a smoother login experience.
Passwordless authentication is here, and it’s time to make the switch.
